What sets our practice apart?

Do You Know What 20 points Set Our Practice Apart?

1. We are a VISION SOURCE ® office:

Vision Source is a very selective, top-quality national private practice healthcare provider organization. We very proud of our affiliation with Vision Source…fewer than 10 practices in the entire state of Arizona can make that claim. It means that we have met very rigorous standards to be eligible for membership. It also means that we understand quality and budgets and it means that we know that it is necessary for you to receive and for us to provide the very best health care and value for what you spend.

2. Shopper’s Comparison Program:

We invite you to compare the value of our products and services to others. In fact, we will help you do so. Just ask us for a “Shopper’s Comparison Form” if you’re considering obtaining your vision care products elsewhere and we will be happy to fill it out for you so you can be assured of getting the best value for your prescription materials. We do this because, while frames, lenses or even contact lenses may look alike, quality and craftsmanship vary dramatically and this has a major impact on your vision-care experience. We offer only the finest quality frames and lenses available for one reason: We believe that for something our patients must rely upon for fashion and function everyday, they shouldn’t have to rely on second-rate materials. We will never offer “supermarket” big-box store eyewear products or second rate materials and we don’t offer 2 for $29 glasses for two reasons:

First, you can’t make a quality pair of glasses for that price. You just can’t. We DO promise to have your new glasses ready for you as soon as possible. This means that it WILL take more than 1 hour to make them because the laboratories we use to make the glasses use only premium lenses.

Second, even if you wanted them, you will rarely, if ever, actually receive the $29 glasses. It’s called a “loss leader” in the advertising world. It’s an offer they use to get you in the door so they can sell you something a lot more expensive. We have no interest in playing games with your health care. You shouldn’t either. We emphasize quality, service and value because your total satisfaction is our utmost concern and we’re serious about assuring it!

And, if you find the same exact glasses (Frame, lens material, bifocal/trifocal/progressive, tints and coatings, etc.) priced less somewhere else within 60 days, just bring in a written confirmation and we will gladly refund the difference.

3. Our Share the Care Program:

For every patient we see resulting from a referral you make, we will discount your glasses or contacts at your next visit. The more referrals you make, the larger your discount! We call it the “Share the Care” program. For every patient we see resulting from a referral you make, we will discount your glasses or contacts at your next visit. The more referrals you make, the larger your discount! So, if you refer someone, tell them to make sure that they tell us that you did!

Refer 1 patient………………………………………….……… Save 10%

Refer 2 patients………………………………………………...Save 20%

Refer 3 patients…………………………………………………Save 30%

Refer 4 patients…………………………………………………Save 40%

Refer 5 patients…………………………………………………Save 50%

Refer 6 patients…………………………………………………Save 60%

Refer 7 patients……………………………………………….Save 100%

4. You get the best!

Our comprehensive eye health and vision analysis is very thorough. How you see through your glasses or contacts is important and so is the health of your eyes and visual system. Our comprehensive exams are based on a “visual lifestyle assessment”. We tailor our recommendations individually to each patient based upon their recreational needs, hobbies, occupations and safety needs by using computerized Visual Field Testing, Digital Retinal Photography and Computer Aided Refractive Analysis to help insure the accuracy of our results.

5. We Stock Quality frames:

If the frame is of poor quality, it won’t matter how well you see because you will not be happy with your glasses. We stock a large selection of fashion frames but we are especially proud of our EasyTwist® frames from Aspex and our Modzflex® titanium from Modern Optics. You can bend them, twist, bump or drop them and they flex right back into their original shape! If you are just a little rough on frames, these are tailor made for you.

6. Try Wiley-X Sunglasses:

We are one of a select few locations in all of Tucson which offers Wiley-X sunglasses… one of the only wrap-around commercial sunglass frames which will accept a prescription lens! THE perfect sunglass for bicyclists, motorcyclists, athletes and those who spend a lot of time driving, outdoors or on the water.

7. We use Phoenix®, Resolution and Truclear lenses:

You can’t get Phoenix lenses at the Mall or at the local Spectacle Factory. They are more impact resistant than the polycarbonate lenses they use, more scratch resistant than polycarbonate, have better Ultraviolet light absorbance than polycarbonate, much better optics for better vision than polycarbonate, almost zero distortion compared to polycarbonate and just as thin and lightweight as polycarbonate. And they hold coatings much, much better so cracked, peeling and scratched coatings are a thing of the past. Essilor

Our office also offers a complete line of lenses from Essilor including progressive lenses such as the TruClear and TruClear HD (High Definintion), Varilux Physio, Varilux Physio 360 and Definity progressives.

Truclear progressive lenses and Truclear HD progressive lenses customize the design of the lenses based upon eye anatomy (retinal curvature and ocular rotational center) by digitally surfacing the lenses which greatly minimizes distortion, maximizes vision and can be customized to allow a wider range of frame selections. These premier products from the makers of Varilux are available exclusively at VisionSource doctors' offices. Studies show that 90% of patients adapt to the Truclear no-line bifocals within minutes.

The Varilux Physio and Varilux Physio 360 use W.A.V.E. (Wavefront Advanced Vision Enhancement)technology to improve the optical performance of its lenses. The same technology used in laser surgery, it analyzes a full beam of light using Point-By-Point Mapping ® as it passes through each area of the lens. The light is analyzed to identify and remove small lens surface distortions. This enables the wearer to achieve a level of optical performance in the areas of vision and contrast sensitivity which cannot be achieved with conventional progressive lens designs. While the Physio lens applies this technology to the front surface of the lens, the Physio 360 uses this technology to perfect both the front and back surfaces of the lens.

8. We Use Hoya’s Super Hi-Vision® and Crizal Avance Anti-reflective coatings:

An anti-reflective coating not only makes your glasses look MUCH better but it also reduces eye strain and fatigue especially for cataract patients and those who are a little sensitive to light. They are excellent for those who work more than 2-3 hours at a time on the computer, those who work under fluorescent light or those who drive, especially those who drive at night. Even though these are extraordinary anti-reflective coatings, they also make your lenses almost as hard to scratch as the old-fashioned glass lenses. No other AR coatings work as well at protecting your eyes from glare and reflections while also protecting your lenses from scratches.

9. Transitions 6® Photochromatic tint:

The latest generation of changeable tint from Transitions®. It gets darker outside, lighter inside and changes faster than previous generations of Transitions. It is the only sun tint which also absorbs UV to protect your eyes.

10. Tired of Thick Lenses?

We use an aspheric lens design and high index lens materials for higher powered glasses prescriptions which allows us to create lenses which will be thinner than you’ve ever experienced. They also help to reduce peripheral distortion in the lenses which allows you to see more clearly through those high prescriptions than you ever have before.

11. Our Bonus Package Program:

Ask about our “Bonus Package Opportunity” program. Many of the elements you need to give you the best vision possible (from a comprehensive eye health examination to make sure your eyes are healthy to the frames, lenses, tints, UV and scratch coatings) are combined in various packages so they cost you less than they would individually.

12. Our Frame and Lens Warranties:

We offer a 2 year “Bumper to Bumper” frame and lens replacement warranty. Our warranty is free. Compare that to others who charge you a fee for their warranty. We offer the following “Bumper to bumper” warranty: If any part of your frame breaks under normal wearing conditions within two years from the date of delivery, just return all parts and we will repair or replace it at no charge.

If your lenses are purchased with an extra scratch resistant coating, a Hoya Super Hi-Vision Anti-reflective or Crizal Anti-reflective coating and become scratched within 2 years of their delivery date under normal wearing conditions, we will replace them at no charge. Replacement of lenses is limited to once in a 24 month period and does not cover "hairline" scratches which have no effect on vision. Lens replacement must be in the original frame and be the original prescription. This limited warranty does not cover glass or CR-39 plastic lenses, theft, loss, accident or abuse.

We also offer complimentary adjustments and repairs for the life of your eyewear. And, if you should ever need replacement parts, you’ll find them to be inexpensive compared to most other offices.

13. Our Guaranteed Accuracy Program:

We provide a “Guaranteed 90 Day Prescription Accuracy” program. Sometimes a prescription does not match a patients needs or just does not turn out “right” for some reason. It is no one’s fault but it can, and does, happen. Therefore, if we need to adjust your prescription to help you see better, there is no fee for doing so within the first 90 days! If you wish to upgrade your lenses at that time, you are only charged the additional amount of the upgrade just as if you had chosen it in the first place!

14. Our “Guaranteed Invisible Bifocal Satisfaction Program”:

We also offer a “Guaranteed Invisible Bifocal Satisfaction” program. If you are unable, for any reason, to adapt to the invisible bifocal, we will pay to replace them with a lined bifocal at no charge to you. Or, if you decide to upgrade from a lined bifocal or trifocal to an invisible bifocal, we will do so for only the difference in price between the lined bifocal or trifocal and the invisible bifocal.

15. Our “Guraranteed Contact Lens Success Program”:

Check out our “Guaranteed 90 Day Contact Lens” program. Our practice is highly experienced at contact lens fitting including gas permeable lenses, disposable and frequent replacement soft contacts, toric soft lenses for astigmatism, bifocal contacts and “eye-catching” tinted soft contacts. We utilize computer assisted fitting technology and offer a 90 day trial lens period. If we can’t fit you to your satisfaction within 90 days, we’ll buy back and unused lenses or boxes of lenses! Try getting the online companies to do that! We also offer shipping directly to your door for a minimal $5.00 shipping and handling fee.

16. Our “Shades for Contacts Program”:

Your contacts are a precise optical system so we want you to have the best and safest sunglasses possible to go with them. We want to enable you to get the most your contacts and that’s why we offer a contact lens/sunglass package which assures you of the best sunglass optics to go with your contacts in a value priced package!

17. Our technical expertise:

We provide computer aided visual fields examinations to test your entire visual system, computer aided refractions to help insure that your prescription is correct and ocular photography to document ocular health and conditions. Photographs can be even be taken inside the eye itself to document its health and to use as a baseline for comparison purposes during future eye health evaluations.

Dr. Hill has been in private practice for over 30 years and has also served many years as the head of the optometry department at a local hospital. Our staff members are highly skilled and well-trained. We keep up on the most current technology and attend continuing education classes or a regular basis to insure that you receive the very best up-to-date hi-tech care possible.

18. Communication:

You’ll find that patient information and education is one of very strongest points. We take the time to explain your case to you so you can help take better care of yourself! We don’t hurry, treat you like a number or overbook so we know we’ll have time to discuss all our findings with you and to answer all your questions.

19. Our courtesy pre-appointment system:

Our pre-appointment system lets you reserve your next appointment time a year in advance so our established patients do not have to wait to see us and those who require special appointment times will be able to be seen when they need to.

20. Our Promise to our patients:

Quality of eyecare and eyewear products varies dramatically from one office to another. As long as you are a patient in our office, you will receive the most comprehensive, individualized eye health care and the finest eyewear and contact lens products available delivered by a staff which is helpful, knowledgeable and friendly.

We are always happy to hear from you so if you have questions or need help with something, don’t hesitate to let us know. We’re hope that you will elect to let us participate in your health care and will do our very best to meet your needs expectations.

We have been fitting specialty contact lenses for years and have seen some incredible changes in that time. By far the most exciting changes have occurred in the last few years. Although rigid contact lenses are a shrinking segment of the industry, we still have a large number of patients who wear them.

The gas-permeable lens materials available today far surpass those available just a few years ago in terms of eye health and comfort.

Allergies can be particularly annoying to contact lens wearers. In the past many people had to quit wearing their lenses for a month or two during the allergy season. New lens materials and allergy medications have made it possible for these people to eliminate itchy eyes. These medications such as Patanol and Alocril are amazingly effective and safe even in children as young as three.
